Hoisin Grilled "Certified Angus" Sirloin Steak

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons Hokan hoisin sauce (aisle # 8)
  • 1 tablespoon Trappist apricot preserves (aisle # 5)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fresh lime juice (aisle # 3 or produce department)
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed McCormick red pepper (spice rack aisle # 8)
  • ½ teaspoon salt (aisle # 8)
  • 1 pound "Certified Angus" beef top sirloin steak (service meat & seafood)


Directions
 
  1. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Combine first 4 ingredients, stirring with a whisk.
  3. Sprinkle salt over beef. Add beef to pan; cook 3 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
  4. Brush both sides of beef with hoisin mixture
  5. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. Cut beef across the grain into thin slices.

Serves 4, serving size about 3 ounces of meat.
