Simple & Healthy Garlic Pasta
With Fresh Tomatoes & Basil

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (aisle # 6)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced (produce department)
  • 5 cups chopped plum tomatoes,
    about 2 pounds (produce department)
  • 6 cups hot cooked Barilla Campanelle cut pasta,
    about 12 ounces uncooked pasta (aisle # 7)
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil (produce department)
  • 1/4 cup (1 ounce) grated fresh Parmesan cheese (food court cheese case)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt (aisle # 8)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground
    black pepper (aisle # 8)


Directions
 
  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, hold for final toss with ingredients.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  3. Add minced garlic; sauté 30 seconds.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes; cook for 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add pasta, basil, cheese, salt, and pepper, tossing gently to combine.

Serves 6, serving size about 1 1/3 cups.
