Chicken & Pasta Bake With Fresh Basil
Ingredients
Asiago Cheese Sauce:
1/4 cup all purpose flour (aisle #11)
2 cups 1% low-fat milk (dairy department)
1 1/4 cups Asiago cheese, please ask for your cheese to be grated in our deli department (food court cheese case)
Chicken:
3 boneless and skinless chicken breasts (service meat department)
Pasta Bake:
3 cups fresh broccoli florets (produce department)
8 ounces un-cooked or 4 cups cooked and drained Barilla penne pasta
(aisle #7)
3 cups of above chicken breasts, fully cooked and chopped
2 cups above Asiago cheese sauce
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil (produce department)
1/4 teaspoon salt (aisle #11)
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper (spice rack end of aisle #11)
2 garlic cloves minced (produce department)
Cooking spray, unflavored of your choice (aisle #11)



Directions
 
Chicken:
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Place chicken on a cooking spray coated cookie sheet and bake till done. Approximately 10 minutes per side, turning chicken over after 10 minutes.
3. Chop into ready-to-eat pieces and set aside
Asiago Cheese Sauce:
1. Lightly spoon flour into a large measuring cup and level with a knife. Place flour into a medium sauce pan and gradually add milk, stirring with a whisk until blended.
2. Place over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick, about 8 minutes.
3. Remove from heat; add grated cheese, stirring until melted.
4. Set aside
Pasta Bake:
1. Cook pasta to package directions, and set aside.
2. Steam the broccoli florets, covered for about 4 minutes.
3. Combine broccoli and the next 7 ingredients (broccoli through garlic) in a large bowl.
4. Spoon the above mixture into a 11 by 7 inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
